Position: Competition Manager
At American Dance Awards, our Competition Managers are the driving force behind the overall event experience on site.
We are seeking organized, professional, and energetic individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are passionate about leadership, event production, and creating exceptional experiences for dancers, studios, and families.
From overseeing event operations and coordinating logistics to supporting staff and ensuring smooth execution throughout the weekend, Competition Managers play a vital role in delivering the professionalism, positivity, and excellence that define ADA events.
We are currently seeking to hire two Competition Managers for the Fall 2026 Convention season and the Spring/Summer 2027 Regional/National Competition season.
Responsibilities
- – Oversee event operations throughout competition weekends
- – Manage schedules, timing, and event flow
- – Coordinate with venue staff, production teams, adjudicators, and event personnel
- – Support studio directors, teachers, dancers, and families professionally and efficiently
- – Lead and communicate with event staff throughout load-in, event execution, and load-out
- – Assist in maintaining a positive, organized, and welcoming event atmosphere
- – Troubleshoot and problem-solve in real time during live events
Qualifications
- – Strong leadership and organizational skills
- – Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- – Ability to multitask and remain composed under pressure
- – Experience in dance, live event production, hospitality, or management preferred
- – Professional, team-oriented attitude
- – Willingness and ability to travel regularly during event season
- – Weekend availability required
Required Availability
Fall Convention Dates
Applicants must be available for all of the following weekends:
- October 10–11
- November 7–8
- November 21–22
- January 16–17
Regional Competition Season
Regional events run from mid-February through mid-May (excluding Easter weekend). Competition Managers must be available to travel on Thursday or Friday mornings and return home on Monday mornings, depending on event scheduling.
National Championship
Competition Managers must also be available for the duration of the 2027 National Championship, taking place July 3–11, 2027.
This is a part-time/seasonal job.
Position: Social Media/Content Creator
This role is responsible for creating engaging digital content that reflects the ADA brand across social media platforms throughout the season. From capturing live event moments to creating promotional and behind-the-scenes content, this position helps bring the ADA experience to life online.
Responsibilities
- – Capture photo and video content during competitions, conventions, and special events
- – Create engaging Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and other social media content
- – Edit short-form video content, reels, stories, and promotional graphics
- – Assist in maintaining ADA’s brand voice and visual identity
- – Collaborate with event staff and leadership to highlight key moments throughout the weekend
- – Create timely content during live events in fast-paced environments
- – Support promotional campaigns leading into events and Nationals
Qualifications
- – Strong understanding of social media platforms and current content trends
- – Experience with photography, videography, and/or content editing preferred
- – Familiarity with Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar editing platforms
- – Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team
- – Strong organizational and communication skills
- – Positive, professional, and creative mindset
- – Dance industry knowledge preferred
Travel & Schedule
This position requires weekend travel throughout the convention and competition season, as well as availability for the 2027 National Championship (July 3–11, 2027). Travel days may include Thursdays/Fridays through Mondays depending on the event schedule.
This is a part-time/seasonal job.
Position: Event Emcee
Event Emcees serve as the voice of ADA events – guiding competitions with professionalism, enthusiasm, and strong stage presence. This role requires excellent public speaking skills, adaptability, and the ability to confidently manage live event environments.
Responsibilities
- – Host and emcee live dance competitions and convention events
- – Play the music for the routines, maintaining audio levels, using QLab
- – Maintain event flow and timing alongside production staff
- – Deliver announcements clearly and professionally
- – Engage audiences while keeping energy positive and appropriate
- – Communicate effectively with event staff, studio directors, and participants
Qualifications
- – Strong public speaking and microphone skills
- – Comfortable speaking in front of large audiences for extended periods
- – Professional demeanor with a positive and outgoing personality
- – Ability to remain composed in fast-paced live event settings
- – Background in dance, entertainment, theatre, broadcasting, or live events preferred
- – Weekend travel availability required
